I never actually liked hot chocolate that much. This recipe though..I am obsessed with. I love carob powder. It tastes a lot like chocolate, but it's AIP-friendly! There’s also lots of room for improvising in this recipe!
For this recipe you'll need:
Steeped tea of choice (I love roasted dandelion), you could also use warmed coconut milk for a creamier taste.
Coconut butter (If you don't do coconut you could use a nut butter of choice if you've reintroduced- I love the taste of sun butter in this recipe).
Carob powder (I've seen it at my health food store, but you can also get it here ).
Cinnamon-I use Ceylon Cinnamon. You can also add ginger to make it more of a spiced drink!
Collagen peptides-I love adding collagen to this drink. It helps to make it frothy, not to mention the gut-healing benefits!
Sweetener of choice (maple syrup or honey would work) if you like it more sweet. I tend to like things less sweet so just the sweetness from the carob and coconut butter is enough for me.
- 8 oz. steeped roasted dandelion root tea
- 2 tbsp coconut butter
- 1.5 tbsp carob powder
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 scoops collagen peptides
