On this site you’ll find paleo recipes and real talk about heart-centered healing. It’s my mission to support you in finding health and happiness. I believe our health extends far beyond nutrition, as my own healing took off when I focused on self compassion. I know how it feels to be consumed by your disease, but I’ve finally learned to live freely with chronic illness. Now I’m work as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner so I can support other women in finding their freedom too.  

My story:

I struggled with various health issues for years, but a year and a half ago my health finally collapsed. I was feeling so awful everyday, but the thing was I didn’t look sick. I tried to tough it out and hoped that my symptoms would get better, but I hit an absolute low point and realized something had to change. I sought out different doctors, but found no real help. I was misdiagnosed, given prescriptions to cover up my symptoms, and generally made to feel absolutely crazy. I knew that something was really wrong so I kept searching and eventually sought a more holistic route of healing with the help of a Functional Medicine doctor. Ultimately I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and Celiac disease, along with many other issues including adrenal fatigue, gut infections, hormone imbalance, and nutrient deficiencies. 

My health improved drastically with the help of this new doctor through nutrition and targeted supplements, but I hit a block in my healing. Eventually, I made the realization that food is not everything. Throughout my health crisis, along with the physical symptoms, I also struggled with depression and overall mental wellbeing. I realized I needed to address my mental and emotional health to fully get well. It took some time, but I found a health coach to support me in the emotional aspect of healing. I found a new level of health when I focused on self-love and cultivating a positive relationship with myself. 

Although I still have a lot to work through and some days are better than others, my focus on eating well for my body and maintaining a positive relationship with myself has brought me back to living a vibrant life. Now I work as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner so I can help others with similar struggles.
